What's New...

  NEW BOOK IN THE STORE

Mildred Porter collected the stories of the harsh, everyday survival for the early pioneers of Wright's Mesa, in the West End of Montrose County, Colorado. Mildred was born in Norwood, Co. at the far Eastern edge of the mesa, in 1917; and grew up hearing these tales as they passed down through family members. She became a teacher, and as a lover of history, it was only natural that she would know the importance of recording the history of place.

Mildred was also involved in the creation of the Rimrocker Historical Society.

This book is sure to delight and captivate readers who share in Mildred's love of this remote, enchanted region.

YES!  We are moving ahead with the purchase and evaluation of our new facility on Main St. A few hurdles continue to pop up, but our direction is forward. Early architectural evaluation is that there are issues to address for museum construction, but that the building is solid and shows great promise for a museum--AND a powerful boost to the unique culture, setting, and economy of the area. ALL ARE EXCITED.

We will keep you informed as to fundraisers and other activities.
